New YearLondon families spent New Year's Eve day skating both indoors at the Western Fair Sports Centre and outdoors at the Storybook Gardens skating loop. A balloon drop at Noon at the London Regional Children's Museum was also well attended.

Firefighters and paramedics were on scene after a canoeist was stranded near the Putnam Bridge.The Upper Thames River Conservation Area has issued a warning to stay away from the fast moving swollen river.
