Firefighters and paramedics were on scene after a canoeist was stranded near the Putnam Bridge.The Upper Thames River Conservation Area has issued a warning to stay away from the fast moving swollen river.

The Laval Rouge et Or went on to win their fifth national title in nine years defeating the University of Western Ontario Mustangs 44 - 21 before 13,873 well chilled spectators at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario Saturday afternoon.
